Kuklos
Kuklos is an large-scale outdoor performance/installation work that I am working on with musician Alex Khalil. In Kuklos the speed of sound through air is used as a compositional component to create delays and
phase shifts between synchronized sound sources that are spread over a large geographical site. Linear time in music, as we tend to think of it, is changed by this process into something like the ancient Greek
notion of cyclic time, recurrent and fluid.
Adam Grimm from Satellite Amps of San Diego has graciously agreed to donate the required amplifiers and speakers for the project. This is a big deal, and we are very grateful.
