Memory Theater
Memory Theater is an interactive sound work that places voice within a vague plane, inside an evolving soundscape that is internally consistent yet often indistinct, like a dream or a fading memory. While a motion capture system drives the evolution of the soundscape, the voice and text content in this piece remain fragmented and unintelligible while any activity is detected. Stillness provides clarity. More Info
Sediment

Whole Piano
This is an interactive composition that uses computer controlled video cameras to interpret the movements and gestures of the musicians, extending the natural acoustic and gestural properties of piano performance. More Info.

Electromechanical Gamelan
A modular, solenoid driven electroacoustic instrument. My travels through Java and Bali and studies of Indonesian classical music led to attempts at original gamelan compositions. The purpose of this project was to design and build a mechanical apparatus for striking metal objects (the junkier the better) that could be controlled with a computer sequencer, and then to compose for it. More info here.
{percept} interactive multimedia installation
{Percept} is based on a pen and paper exercise I created years ago that was turned into a sound installation during a collaboration with a William Brent in early 2006, and then later expanded to include interactive video. More info here.
the female expatriate project
(www.female-expat.org). A collaborative art project with Joelle Dietrick. I designed the community audioblogging system for this project, which allows low-bandwidth users worldwide to blog community audio. The design emphasis was on ease of use and universal access: all that is required to use the system is a microphone and a web browser, and audio content is compressed and streamed.
